Bridging the Gap Project Proposals

At the end of June 27 2015 “Embracing the Next Generation Leaders” conference, PRO Leadership proposed five projects that may allow it play its share in bridging the 3 G leadership gaps. To read the report of the conference, check out this link: https://proleadership.org/?page_id=713

Below are the brief description of the five projects:

1. Establishing PRO Clubs

Lots of leaders don’t have a place where they can meet once in awhile with other like-minded leaders to network and also improve their leadership skills. PRO Leadership would like to create this inspiring and safe space starting from the DC metro area. Rather than meeting once per year during annual leadership conference, we thought it is great to create a structure that allows all of our leaders, volunteers, and supporters to meet periodically and grow together. The goal is to establish clubs where supporters (PROs) of PRO Leadership meet once per quarter or, if necessary, once per month to exchange leadership ideas, share their leadership experiences, suggest books, tools, and resources that are important to grow as leaders. The time frame could be just one hour or one hour and half. Right now, we are working on the documents that are necessary including the governing charter, and other guidelines. We are also looking for a place to launch the first club. We need your support and involvement. Would you like to join us as a Supporter? Are you interested to take a leadership role? Would you like to sponsor a place in your organization’s, college’s, university’s building? If you said yes to one or more of these questions, you may please contact us.

2. Offering Leadership Workshops

To bridge the leadership gap, PRO Leadership would like to offer some leadership programs to its target audience. These leadership workshops are designed to sharp the leadership ability of community leaders and small business owners starting from the DC metro area. Some of the workshop themes include but not limited to: Creating an inclusive workplace where team members from diverse culture flourish, Turning conflicts into opportunities, Leading change skillful and smartly, and many more themes. PRO Leadership intends to work with sponsoring organizations to find places to organize the workshops, recruit volunteer trainers, and issue certificates of completion. Would you like to volunteer to facilitate one or more of the workshops? Are you interested to sponsor one or more of the workshop themes to your organization, community, or team? Do you need one or more of the workshops that we offer? If you said yes to one or more of these questions, you may please contact us.

3. Mentoring Emerging Leaders

Mentoring is one of the tools PRO Leadership attempts to raise great leaders. This project aims at brining together experienced leaders as mentors and emerging leaders as mentees. We have readily available frameworks and guidelines. The first step is select qualifying mentees, then find for each the right mentor, provide orientation for both, arrange a launching conference, follow up and monitor progress, and when the program ends arrange a closing ceremony and award certificates for both. We gather feedback from all stakeholders, make necessary changes, and continue to reach out and empower more emerging leaders beginning from DC metro area. Do you desire to be considered as one of the mentees? Would you like to be considered as a mentor? Do you want to sponsor this program financially, which will be used to pay toward event expenses, and other expenditures? If you said yes to one or more of these questions, you may please contact us.

4. Empowering Women Leaders

Even if women constitute half or sometimes more than half of their communities, and shoulder 75% of the responsibilities in their communities and organizations, they aren’t adequately represented in leadership. Regardless of their number, talent, and experience, many women are not out there at the front and leading. This project aims at bringing passionate women leaders who care about this gap. PRO Leadership creates the platform to bring these leaders together to design and deliver leadership programs to empower women in leadership. Do you want to take leadership in leading this project? Are you interested to empower other women? Are you interested to partner with us? Would you like to benefit from this program and get empowered? If you said yes to one or more of these questions, you may please contact us.

5. Equipping Student Leaders

Several students defer their leadership services to their respective communities until they graduate. Obviously, when they graduate and join the workforce, they aren’t well equipped to lead skillfully. Leadership, based on his or her passion and purpose in life, should begin at the early stage of each individual that joins this universe. That is why this project aims at equipping students as leaders and gives them leadership opportunities as interns to hone their leadership skill while they’re still in school. Are you a student and would like to join this program? Are you the dean of one of the colleges or universities in the metro area and you would like your students to work with us as interns and develop their leadership skills while fulfilling their academic requirements? Are you passionate in equipping the young generations who are tomorrows leaders in your community, organization, and nation while they’re still studying?  If you said yes to one or more of these questions, you may please contact us.

Please note that as a leadership tax-exempt non-profit organization, our roles including but not limited to the following:

  1. Bring leaders and volunteers of each project together and offer them initial direction and guidance,
  2. Providing the necessary latest frameworks, tools, and models,
  3. Coaching and mentoring the mentors, facilitators, and leaders of each project,
  4. Arranging orientations,
  5. Conducting launching and closing ceremonies,
  6. Issuing completion certificates, and writing recommendation letters, and so.
